Car wrapping for colour changes and working fleets.
Wrapped by a body shop. The panels get fixed and prepped before the film goes near them.
Car Wrapping
Stow Smash Repairs wraps cars at our Artarmon workshop, for North Shore drivers and businesses. Colour changes, chrome deletes, partial wraps and full commercial fleet branding. Because we’re a body shop first, dents and paint problems are fixed before film goes on, not stretched over. Good film over healthy paint comes off clean years later.

How We Do It

01 / 05Check the paint first.- Step 01
Check the paint first.
Film bonds to whatever is under it. Healthy factory paint wraps and unwraps clean. Failing or resprayed paint can flip on removal, so we check and tell you before quoting.

- Step 02
Fix before we wrap.
Dents, chips and scratches telegraph through film. We repair the panel properly first, in the same building.

- Step 03
Strip and clean.
Badges and trim come off where they should. Wrapping around parts that should be removed is how edges fail.

- Step 04
Cut and lay.
Panels are wrapped with edges tucked, not trimmed on your paint. Compound curves are heated and set so the film stays down.

- Step 05
Post-heat and inspect.
Stretched film wants to shrink back. Post-heating locks it in place, and we inspect every edge before handover.

Colour Changes
Matte black, satin colours, gloss changes and chrome delete are the regulars. A roof or bonnet wrap is a cheap way to test a look. Full colour changes come with one honest warning. Cheap film and cheap fitting fail at the edges within a year, in Australian sun especially.
Business and Fleet Wraps
A wrapped work van is advertising you already own, and it comes off clean at resale or lease return. We wrap utes, vans and fleet cars with your branding, and we fix the panels underneath, which sign shops can’t. One supplier for the fleet’s paint, panels and branding. Running more than one vehicle? The NSW Paperwork
- If the wrap changes my car’s colour, who do I tell?
- Update the colour with Service NSW and tell your insurer. It takes minutes and saves arguments at claim time. A wrapped white car that reads blue on the road should say blue on the rego.
- Can I wrap a leased or novated lease car?
- Yes, and it’s the point of wrapping. The film protects the paint underneath and comes off clean at return. Check your lease terms for permanent modifications. A wrap isn’t one.
Common Problems We Fix
Edge lift means the film was trimmed short, stretched too hard, or laid on unprepped paint. One panel can usually be rewrapped without redoing the car. We match the film batch where it’s still made.
Aged film comes off with heat and patience, and adhesive residue comes off after that. Over factory paint, removal is routine. Over a respray, we test a corner first and tell you the risk before starting.
What It Costs
- Full wrap cost by vehicle size.
- Film is bought by the metre and laid by the hour, so size and complexity set the price. A small hatch and a long van are different jobs.
- Partial vs full wrap.
- Roof, bonnet and mirrors deliver a look for a fraction of a full wrap. Full colour changes cost more and demand door jambs done properly, or the old colour shows at every opening.
- Wrap or respray?
- Similar price band, different lifespan, different logic. We wrote the honest comparison. Wrap vs Respray →
